Nonprofit organizations need to file taxes each year, and often need to coordinate with a CPA to complete an audit or a review on their books as well. This process can be confusing and time consuming, especially when it is so different than the kind of work that a nonprofit engages in every day. We are experienced in helping nonprofit organizations communicate financial information to CPAs, and to work alongside your team to produce the best possible result for everyone involved. (Audit and review support is only available for organizations that we also provide other ongoing accounting services to, since we can only back up our own work - and not that of others.)


Translation

We often say that accounting is a foreign language, and nonprofit accounting is an obscure dialect that most people don’t know how to speak. Throw the CPA audit and review process into the mix, and you may feel like you can’t understand a word that anyone is saying! We can help serve as “translators” to make sure that you can hear what is needed of you, and to assure your team that they will be capable of taking care of everything that is asked of them.


Education

Even if you have done everything to the best of your ability, it can be stressful to go through a CPA audit or a review - especially if you have never done this before. We work alongside your team to help everyone to experience the process as a valuable learning opportunity, and to make sure everyone can get better at the work they do with every passing year.
